RANDOM STUFF
Knitted lasagna, blue-muffin science and 120,000 pages of Tolkien
🧶 A London “restaurant” serves only knitted food. Artist Kate Jenkins knitted, crocheted and stitched every dish at Kate’s Knitalian, from lasagna to pistachio cannoli and tiramisu, and fitted the Air Contemporary gallery with gingham tablecloths and a gelato fridge. None of it is edible.
🧁 Scientists want you to eat a blue muffin and time your poo. A University of Southampton citizen science project led by Prof Jon Swann is investigating whether gut transit time is linked to cognitive performance. Once your poo turns blue, you play online problem-solving games.
💍 More than 1,000 artists drew The Fellowship of the Ring as a flipbook. Led by animator Andy Bailey, they spent over a year on a hand-drawn, shot-for-shot version of the whole three-hour film: 120,000 pages. One flipbook to rule them all.
With love,
Alex Shandrovsky and Kat Tarasova
